the overview of the system architecture is depicted in the image below. The Netgem iplayer Media Centre is configured so that the in-room tv and front-of-house systems are available as a channel.

The menus and subsequent screens are hosted on the easychannel "easy2" server, and delivered over the internet. From the client's router, local distribution to the iplayer is achieved using either ethernet or powerline communications.

Clients are able to make changes to messages and other preferences by logging in from a PC to the easychannel administration centre.
